LIGHT FIXTURE INSTALLATION
DC, MD & VA
The right lighting transforms a room more dramatically than almost any other upgrade. 5 Star Pros installs ceiling fixtures, fans, chandeliers, recessed lighting, and smart controls — safely, cleanly, and done to code across the entire DMV area.
LIGHT FIXTURE INSTALLATION
THROUGHOUT THE DMV
Lighting is one of the most underestimated elements of a home. Walk into a room with a single builder-grade ceiling globe and it feels flat and small. Swap that fixture for a statement chandelier, add a row of recessed LED cans around the perimeter, and the same room suddenly feels twice as large and intentionally designed. Across Silver Spring, Bethesda, Arlington, and Washington DC, homeowners are making this upgrade — and they're calling 5 Star Pros to get it done right.
We handle the full scope of residential light fixture installation: replacing existing ceiling fixtures, pendant lights, bathroom vanity lights, and wall sconces; installing ceiling fans with proper fan-rated boxes; hanging chandeliers in dining rooms and entryways; and adding recessed LED lighting to rooms that have never had overhead lighting before. Every job is done safely — power off at the breaker, connections made to code, no exposed wire nuts, no fixtures that wobble or sag after installation.
One detail many homeowners don't think about: older DMV homes often have ceiling boxes rated for light fixtures only — not fans. A ceiling fan weighs significantly more and has dynamic load from spinning blades. Installing a fan on a standard light box is a safety hazard. We always check the box rating before installation and replace it with a properly braced fan-rated box if needed. It's a small step that prevents a real problem, and it's part of every ceiling fan install we do.

OUR PROCESS
We check the existing box rating, wiring gauge, circuit capacity, and switch configuration before touching anything. No assumptions — we verify the setup is safe and code-compliant.
We cut power at the breaker, confirm with a voltage tester, carefully remove the old fixture, and document the wiring before disconnecting. No shortcuts on safety.
New fixture is assembled, wired with proper connectors, mounted securely to the box, and dressed cleanly so no wiring is visible after the canopy closes. Fan boxes get load-rated hardware.
Power restored, fixture tested for full function including dimming if applicable. We check for flicker, confirm the mounting is tight, and walk you through any smart controls or remotes.
