HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU
WASH YOUR HOUSE?

In the DMV, humidity, tree cover and heavy spring pollen mean exteriors get dirty faster than in drier climates. But washing too often wastes money, and washing the wrong way can do damage. Here's a realistic schedule.

THE BUNDLE APPROACH

Many homeowners wash the house, deck and driveway in one visit every spring. It's usually cheaper per area than separate trips, and the whole property looks refreshed at once.

Pressure washing is maintenance, not just appearance. Mildew and grime hold moisture against surfaces, and that shortens the life of paint, stain and sealers.
